About

I grew up in an animated, quirky, Italian American family with ‘millions’ of relatives.  There was always lots of food, stories, chaos and humor.  Who knew it was giving me all the ammunition and hand gestures I would need to create my art and my stories.

I am a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design (BFA) and Mills College (MFA).  I am an author/illustrator, also interested in illustration work. I am the co-regional advisor for San Diego SCBWI, and running the illustrator monthly get together. I’ve attended several SCBWI Intensives and workshops, completed all the classes for the UCSD’s Children’s Writing and Illustrating Certificate, and a graduate of the Lyrical Language Lab with Renee Tulippe. I teach as a Professor of Fine Arts at Southwestern, Cuyamaca and Grossmont Colleges, and have shown my fine art at many galleries, locally and nationally.
